Michiel Sallaets joined Hill+Knowlton Strategies in June 2011. He is an account executive in the Public Relations Department. Prior to join Hill+Knowlton Strategies Michiel worked at Burson-Marsteller as in intern in the PR/PA-department and was responsible for the media relations for high-level event 'The EVawards - Europeans of the Year 2011'.
Michiel works on several Belgian and international accounts such as Kellogg’s, Alpro, LG, Logitech, TomTom, Citibank and BlackRock for which he focuses on media relations and brand building campaigns.
Michiel has a specific interest in digital communications and the use of social media for PR; he has a good knowledge of different social media tools.
Michiel holds a Bachelor degree in Physical Education and Sports Management (Artesis Antwerp), a Bachelor degree in Public Relations (Plantijnhogeschool Antwerp) and a Master degree in Communication Sciences (University of Antwerp). He is a native Dutch speaker and is fluent in English and French and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
In his spare time he organises fashion events in Antwerp and is therefore frequently in contact with fashion and lifestyle media.
